Little bit of software for images

Christopher Murphy has this sweet little project, called Optimus, that works very well for certain use cases. You can find more information about it on his website christophermurphy.dev.

For one of my clients I regularly have to upload and post images on their website. Photos are (further) optimized once uploaded by WordPress and WP plugins, but I try to do some basic stuff before I even upload them, specifically I make sure the dimensions don’t exceed 1600px and each photo doesn’t weigh more than 1MB. I used to do that either in Photoshop or in Affinity Photo but Optimus is actually perfect for it and really speeds up the process. Even with Photoshop macros the process is not as fast.

I think it looks nice and it’s easy to use. Here is the settings page of mine to give you an idea:
